Kathy’s Workout Music Playlist & Motivation–A huge believer of the community, Kathy Gabriel is the founder of Urban Yogis and Pop Up Yoga. We ask her to share with us her workout secrets!
Kathy picked up yoga in her late teens during a period of spiritual seeking. Finding great solace in the practice, the practice helped her overcome emotional struggles and obstacles in life. This is the reason why she enjoys teaching the practice outside of physical postures, focusing on the healing benefits of the mental and spiritual practice. More importantly, she believes that yoga is about having a swell time, with others and yourself. Kathy teaches an intuitive combination of Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative. She works with both adults and kids. Kathy is primarily based in Singapore but also leads yoga retreats to various destinations every month.
What is on your workout music playlist?
My workout playlist is usually a Spotify blend of electronic, instrumental pop and some reggae.
What motivates you to workout, when you do not feel like it?
That post-workout feeling, whether it is an adrenaline high after a high-intensity workout or a wave of stillness after a yoga practice, it is how your body and mind feels right after that keeps me going.
